Editor's note: This story was updated on Friday to reflect an additional signing announced by EMU on July 17.

Eastern Michigan now has 18 players confirmed for its inaugural women’s flag football team, with 12 more players announced over the last month following six signees announced earlier in the summer.

Of the 11 additional players, four more are coming from Siena Heights, where EMU head coach Jesse Siordia most recently coached, leading the team to a national championship for the 2026 season. That makes it nine of the initial 17 signees coming over with Siordia from Siena Heights.

Beyond that cadre, there’s a heavy Arizona bend to the roster, but Siordia and Co. found some talent from places like Florida and even signed an international player.

Here are the new signees, and you can read about the first six here.

Maycie Bassett, LB/C, Goodyear, AZ; Siena Heights, Canyon View HS

Bassett was mostly a reserve on offense at Siena Heights last season but did make a notable splash on defense. She’ll likely expand that role on defense, at a minimum, at EMU while finding her fit in the offensive picture.

Armani Rodgers, RB/DB, Gilbert, AZ; Williams Field HS

She held an offer to Siena Heights to play for Siordia, and now will come to Ypsilanti to do the same. Rodgers can play both ways, either in the defensive backfield or at various spots around the offense.

Skyann Penn, LB/DB, Westland, MI; Wayne Memorial HS

One of the top players in Michigan in 2026, Penn finished with a trio of interceptions, two returned for touchdowns. And getting a recruit pipeline open to Wayne Memorial, where rising senior Capri Easley — another top player in Michigan — will play in 2027 could prove quite valuable to Siordia and Co.

Addison Wallace, FS, Gibraltar, MI; Carlson HS

At 5-foot-8, Wallace brings good size and evidently can play in the air, as she also played volleyball and was a guard-forward for the basketball team. She projects out as a rangy backend player on defense, who could get to making an impact on offense.

Lia Cruz, ATH, El Centro, CA; St. Thomas University, Calexico HS

After playing three seasons at St. Thomas, Cruz comes to Ypsilanti with experience at several positions. She’s played quarterback and receiver the most, and had her best season as a receiver in 2025: 55 catches for 514 yards and seven touchdowns.

Emma Adamczyk, QB, Howell, MI; Brighton HS

A quarterback on the football field, Adamczyk played for a strong Brighton flag team in high school while playing soccer and basketball. She played midfield in soccer and was a guard on the basketball team.

Helen Flores, QB/WR/LB, Rochester Hills, MI; Siena Heights, Rochester Adams HS

Flores played some at quarterback for Siena Heights in 2026, and is probably ready for a bigger role. She’s a familiar face for Siordia and Co. to work with, and is a potential option to play quarterback.

Brooke Cooper, WB/DB, Middleburg, FL; Siena Heights, Middleburg HS

She finished 2025 at Siena Heights with 37 catches for 339 yards and three touchdowns, and added on a pair of punt returns. She’ll be an offensive compliment to Kyamora Dunn (see below), at a minimum.

Kyamora Dunn, WR/DB, Brooklyn, NY; Siena Heights, James Madison HS

The leading rusher for Siena Heights in 2025, Dunn carried the ball 131 times for 1441 yards. She also led the squad in receiving, catching 46 passes for 514 yards. She finished with 27 combined rushing and receiving touchdowns that season. She had slightly less production last year, but still produced.

Madison Ojeda, WR/DB, Pembroke Pines, FL; Western HS

A 5-foot-6 point guard for her high school basketball team as well, Ojeda comes in as a true freshman with decent size and athleticism.

Ainhoa Garcia Velasco, Madrid, Spain; Life University, IES Jose Garcia Nieto HS

Finished with 49 solo tackles for Life University in 2026 and added three TFL and a number of pass breakups. Will be a defensive addition, primarily, for EMU.

Clare Strong, Fairbury, IL; Aurora University, Prairie Central HS

A junior at Aurora in 2026, Strong will play her senior season at EMU. She caught 53 passes for 704 yards and 14 touchdowns for Aurora last season.
