The edge rusher led the nation in sacks and tackles for loss and will surely be drafted, something both he and the Broncos are quite happy about.

Kalamazoo — Nadame Tucker’s arrival to Western Michigan might not have garnered attention, but won’t be able to leave quietly.

After playing and producing as one of the elite edge defenders in college football in 2025, Tucker vaulted himself into NFL Draft considerations, projected as a middle round pick for the upcoming draft this April in Pittsburgh. In another year's time, Tucker will in all likelihood be coming off his rookie NFL season.

It’s a meteoric rise from a player who had barely seen the field prior at the FBS level, and something that probably couldn’t have happened without the people at WMU who poured into him.

“I just was talking about, like, just how grateful I am to be around good people, you know what I'm saying?” Tucker said after his pro day workout. “Like, no secret agendas, no weird vibes, bro. Just, we're just here to work, get better. You know, we all have one goal: To win. So, man, it was just something that I just — I just want to hold on to, when I'm with the guys. And something I'll always remember. 'Cause I had a lot of dark days in college, so this was the light for me.”
